About Sit Still

vigue-headshotHi, I’m Tammy Vigue.  I’d like to tell you a little bit about my journey to Sit Still…

I lived much of my life feeling as if something was missing. My “mantra” was I’ll be happy when… I make more money…I fit into a size 4 dress…I have a great relationship…I pay off my debt…

Gradually I began to realize that this future orientation…I’ll be Happy When thinking…was preventing me from living my life right now.

So after ten years in the financial industry, I left my career and spent the next year on a journey to Self. I was open to trying just about anything: I participated in intense yogic cleansing rituals, tried chanting in Sanskrit, meditated at 4:20 in the morning, did yoga every day, traveled to spiritual places, journaled, read more self-help books than I care to say, went on retreats, personal development workshops…etc…

It was an intense period and I learned a lot about myself. I learned who I truly am and that my happiness isn’t dependent on what’s going on around me – my finances, my weight, or my relationships.

I also realized that it’s not necessary to go to such extremes to discover this truth. It’s not necessary to study ancient practices, live in an ashram, or meditate for hours at a time in the quest to find yourself. You can achieve this while fully participating in your life.

I have taken the wisdom I have gained along my own journey to Self and have distilled them into Sit Still.  My mission is to help people realize their full potential by integrating body, mind and spirit in an accessible and modern way.

I’m a Personal Life Coach, Meditation Teacher and Registered Yoga Teacher.  I live in beautiful Vancouver, BC Canada overlooking Stanley Park.  To contact me, please email me at tammy@sitstill.ca
